Starting a blog has been on my to-do list for a long time and today I am thrilled to check that item off my to-do list! Today I finally sat at the computer and figured out how to set everything up and here is the result. I plan to use this blog to keep all our clients and alpaca friends up to date with everything happening here at CountryTime Alpacas and all the projects in the fiber studio.
A little background for folks who don't know of us...

CountryTime Alpacas was started in 1998 with 2 alpacas and we have since grown to over 40 alpacas. We are located in the beautiful Northwest and are a full-time, full-service alpaca farm. We breed quality show winning alpacas and have started over 20 families in the alpaca business. The alpaca lifestyle is great for our active family and we enjoy sharing the many years of alpaca experience with others. I shear all the alpacas every May/June with lots of help from family and friends and then I enjoy spending time in the studio working with all the luxurious fiber our alpacas produce every year. I started handspinning alpaca yarn in 1999 and over the years have accumulated equipment in the studio including a picker, electric carder, several spinning wheels and a loom. When I am not processing alpaca show fleeces for clients I am busy working with all my fiber. We also have a farm store showcasing my handspun yarns and handcrafted alpaca items as well as lots of other alpaca products.

Now that I've spent a couple hours at the computer I'm back to work in the studio until it's time for afternoon chores. My goal today is to finish carding Sabella's dark brown fiber so I can start carding all the dyed fiber that I've spent the past couple weeks turning white alpaca fiber into beautiful vibrant colors in the dye pot.
I welcome you to check out our blog every week to see what's happening on our alpaca farm!
